Job Tasks:

  • Develop new product renderings defining the product look and user interface under the direction of the project manager. Using Solidworks, AutoCAD 2D & 3D

  Hardware/Software and Quality Control Engineer

Responsible for the supervision of technicians in the building; repairing, modifying or overhauling electronic, electro mechanical equipment, mechanical equipment, and controls. This position will be heavily involved with Parabit’s Electronics Assembly/Integration department.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Record senior management’s project requirements for evaluation by IT department
  • Communicate and demonstrate those requirements to project engineer
  • Source parts or find alternates
  • Answer questions on function, and operation of product
  • Verify that board layouts are suitable for enclosures or displays
  • Test new firmware loads
  • Test user interface
  • Build prototype fixture to test hardware functions
  • Obtain cost estimates for fabrication
  • Gather and backup project documentation
  • Document project setbacks and corrective actions taken to rectify those problem


Education and Experience Requirements:

Knowledge of: PC based systems; Kiosks and Digital Signage and Analog Telephone equipment.

Job Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience with Installation and Service of:
    • ATM Lobby Card Access Control Systems
    • Door Lock/Exit Hardware
    • Analog and IP CCTV Surveillance Systems
    • Cable Pulls to Local and National Electrical Codes
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience with: Operation of power tools (Drills, Sawzall, Jig and Chop Saws, Grinders, etc.) and equipment in a safe, responsible and confident manner

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the; repairing, modifying and the overhauling of electronic, electro mechanical equipment, mechanical equipment, and controls. The Manager will provide technical and programming support to Field Techs and Clients on all products manufactured and distributed by Parabit.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform component level troubleshooting and repair of complex electronic access control assemblies.
  • Produce weekly reports on all productivity.
  • Produce weekly reports on fulfilled orders.
  • Create and maintain assembly procedures on all products.
  • Create and maintain repair procedures on all products.
  • Maintain a safe and organized department and work area.
  • Document and submit all functional failures of equipment to engineering for follow-up/repair.
  • Maintain quality control on the production of all equipment assembled, as well as, equipment purchased for resale.
  • Maintain diagrams/schematics on all products assembled and purchased for resale.
  • Maintain a bill of materials on all products assembled.
  • Document technical support and remote programming provided to all field techs and clients.
  • Maintain and document the repair of all equipment returned from the field.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all software packages utilized to program supported equipment.
  • Advise senior management of any part (or subassembly) that is used in the assembly process that becomes discontinued or obsolete.
  • Provide a monthly count of all equipment returned from the field and clients.
